Meet Elbie!

Elbie is a 14 lb, 6-year-old fun-sized ball of mischief and love. We’re guessing Pekingese/Dachshund, but honestly, he’s just 100% Elbie.

Elbie’s Favorite Things:

People (he’s never met a stranger!)

Playtime with other dogs

Snacks, treats, and ALL the food

Benebones and toys

Short naps (upside down for max cuteness)

Belly rubs on demand

The Important Stuff:

Crates – He does better when left alone, but if you’re home, he thinks he should be out with you

Leash – Doing much better!

House manners – He knows them and does well

Personality – If you give him an inch, he’ll take a mile He will need structure and leadership in his home

Good with: All people + dogs his size and up for play

Not good with: Cats or anything that runs—he’s a chaser

Door dasher alert: Working on “wait,” but for now, watch those doors!

Kids: Best with older, respectful kids

Elbie’s Perfect Family: A home with playful dogs his size and/or older kids, and someone around often—or willing to maintain his routine and structure. He thrives with clear expectations and consistency.

If you’re looking for a pup who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and cuddle up after playtime—Elbie’s your guy.

Adoption Info:

All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/ neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipped prior to adoption.

Our requirements are non-negotiable and include the following:

All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, unless there is a documented medical exemption with veterinary confirmation.

All current dogs must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) vaccinations.

All current dogs must be on consistent, consecutive heartworm prevention.

Past dogs listed on the application must also show a consecutive history of heartworm prevention.

The dog you're applying for might already have a meet-and-greet scheduled, be on a trial with another family, or has been offered to another rescue within our network Don't worry though - we're always happy to help you find another great match if that happens! Our goal is to make sure every pup ends up in the best home for their needs (and yours too!)
