Standard Poodle

Hear ye! Hear ye! Introducing to you, Sir Douglas Duke!

Douglas is a 1 year old, standard poodle weighing 69.4 lbs. Douglas is considered a king poodle due to his height. He is quite a tall boy!

Douglas may be extra large but he prefers to think of himself as a lap dog once he warms up! Douglas had a rough start to life and found himself running the streets for nearly a month. You can scroll down for the full story! Naturally, being on his own for this long caused him to lose trust in humans as they didn’t always treat him well. Because of this, his adoption will take some time.

Douglas will need a very special person to commit to bonding with him. Once the bond is there, he is loyal like no other! He wants nothing more than to be next to his person. He is playful, goofy and a complete snuggle bug!

Douglas will require multiple meets and interactions with his adopter before taking the big leap! He is pretty easy to win over, if you have the good snacks and patience that is! Douglas may be weary at first but he loves to be loved!

Douglas is great with other dogs and did not show any interest in cats. He is a big boy and dogs his own since would be ideal! Due to his nature, a home with no children is best. Douglas has wonderful doggie manners. He is leash trained, house trained and crated trained. He loves to please his person once he has bonded.

Please take into consideration that Douglas will require regular grooming every 4-5 weeks and to be brushed regularly. An in-home groomer is preferred so that his trusted person can be present.

A secured 6-foot fenced in yard is required in Douglas new home so he can explore daily, no exceptions!

All of our animals are fully vetted which includes spay/neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and microchipped) prior to adoption.
